Elegant sculpture of the Belgian artist Van der Sraten (Ghent 1856 - 1941) pupil of Jef Lambeaux,
he moved to Paris in 1883 and exhibited at the Salon from 1885 to 1912. Silver medalist at the Universal Exhibition of 1900, he produced many female subjects, graceful fantasies of great technical mastery, representative artist of the Belle Epoque.
