Bronze sculpture representing a Gaul by the French artist Emile Laporte, sculptor and medallist (born in Paris in 1858 and died in the same city in 1907), a student of Dumont, Thomas, Bonnassieux and Barrias at the Beaux-Arts. He exhibited at the Salon from 1881 and won a silver medal at the Universal Exhibition in 1900.
