A beautiful gilded bronze bowl, "Ombrelles," by Leon Kann (1859–1925).
A very attractive design, typical of the Art Nouveau period, for this multi-lobed gilt bronze bowl. Here we see the purest representation of nature, with this bowl’s flowing curves evoking a plant form and, above all, a base composed of finely chiseled umbel stems.
The craftsmanship is of very high quality; the renowned foundry Siot Decauville was involved in the creation of this piece.
Dimensions: 21.3 cm long, 15 cm wide; signed “L.Kann” on the side and bearing the foundry’s stamp “SIOT-Paris” on the underside of the base.
In perfect condition, circa 1900.
