Crystal Decanter Reworked By Saint-louis, Circa 1880, Era Daum Baccarat Lalique
Artist: Verrerie De Saint-louis
A beautiful crystal decanter with a floral design, entirely wheel-cut by the Saint-Louis glassworks. A remarkably delicate piece with lovely decoration on each side. Note the precision of the workmanship and the quality of the piece. The hot-air balloon-shaped stopper incorporates a central bubble and is also wheel-cut. The handle is coiled, striated, and applied while hot. The crystal is pristine, with no trace of limescale. In perfect condition, including the stopper. 25 cm high, circa 1880. This is a model that can easily be attributed to Saint-Louis, although some attribute it to Baccarat. A piece of great elegance and in exceptional condition.
