Jean Bruno Savarin was the manager of the Manufacture Royale d'Horlogerie de Bourg, from 1771 to 1776.
Seen inside the movement box, the mecanism shows all the carateristics of a 18th century Louis XV movement, near 1770. It is the original mecanism of the clock.
Terrace marble hectic form based on 4 feet and tops decorated with a frieze of bronze tracery.
The allegorical theme thrives on a degree brass base, pedestal winners. Two subjects are leaning against the drum of the clock, decorated with garlands of laurel banded. Left Cupidon perched on stacked books symbolizes sagesse and peace treaties. God Mars, look great, trophies deposited at his feet, symbol of victory.
Original mercury gilding in superb condition.
