19th Century Flemish Art Plate, Hand-painted – Signed Rembrandt Portrait

A superb decorative plate from the late 19th/early 20th century, entirely hand-painted, depicting a portrait of Rembrandt (1606–1669), signed on the back by the artist.
It features a finely worked brown monochrome background and unique floral motifs on the scalloped rim.
This plate is a refined example of late 19th/early 20th-century ceramic craftsmanship.
The portrait of Rembrandt is hand-painted in brown monochrome using a meticulous vermicelli technique, giving relief and depth to the face seen in three-quarter view. (See photo for a demonstration of this technique.) Six stylized floral motifs on the scalloped rim are individually painted, each with slight variations that confirm the entirely handmade nature of the piece.
The rim is highlighted with a gold border, a final touch of elegance and refinement.
Below the portrait is the inscription "REMBRANT 1606–1669," clearly identifiable, and the reverse bears a handwritten signature of the painter, partially erased but attesting to its artisanal authenticity.

Condition and Dimensions: Condition: Excellent, without cracks or chips, and with no losses in the painted decoration.
Rim: 12 scallops, floral motifs intact.
