Period and origin: 19th century, France – Nevers glassworks. Traditional spun glass technique, documented in the region since the 18th century.
Miniature representing a moderator/kerosene lamp. Circular body, bulging at the base, resting on a pedestal, and tapering towards the top. Tall and very thin chimney (~4.3 cm), intact. Original through-wheel, perfectly preserved.
Polychrome decoration: blue garlands and red cabochons applied while hot.
Object in excellent condition, without cracks or chips. I note a tiny loss of glass thread, less than one millimeter. Imperceptible without a magnifying glass.
