A set of 11 professional stereoscopic plates on extra-thin gelatin silver bromide paper, published by the Société Anonyme des Plaques et Papiers Photographiques A. Lumière et ses Fils (Lyon-Monplaisir).
This tourist series, dedicated to Biarritz, features lively scenes with numerous figures.
Each plate has a printed caption in the center (between the two views) indicating the name of the city and the location, as well as a continuous number. Locations depicted:
La Grande Plage, Le Port Vieux, Boulevard des Tamaris, Villa Belza, Port des Pêcheurs, Côte des Basques, Rocher de la Vierge, Bathers, beach scenes. Numbering: 1 to 12, with plate no. 7 missing.
Size: 45 × 107 mm.
Condition: very good, without scratches, losses, tears, or warping. Emulsions well preserved.
The set is preserved in its original green A. Lumière box, with printed markings: "Société anonyme des plaques et papiers photographiques A. Lumière et ses fils" and the A. Lumière typographic signature.
