Juan Rozas Vilar, Born In 1944. Large Original Double-sided Watercolor—early Period, 1970s

Artist: Juan Rozas Vilar
An important original watercolor by Juan Rozas Vilar, a Catalan painter known for his landscapes painted from life, in which light and atmosphere play a central role.
Created on a large sheet of heavyweight watercolor paper (49 × 71 cm), the work is uniquely painted on both sides.
Each side depicts a different landscape: villages, bridges, rural buildings, and trees are rendered with remarkable economy of means, in a palette of colored grays, ochres, and earth tones characteristic of the artist’s early style.
The paper, with its pronounced and irregular grain, fully contributes to the textural and translucent effects characteristic of this technique.
Signed “Rozas” in the lower left corner, corresponding to the artist’s early period.
Condition:
very good overall condition;
no tears or restoration;
paper in good condition;
A perimeter band of slightly darker tones (approximately 1.5 cm wide), which has no aesthetic impact once the work is reframed with a mat, as it was originally.
Dimensions: 49 × 71 cm.
A rare work, both for its large format and its double-sided execution, offering two original compositions of fine quality.
Careful shipping, either flat or in a rigid tube, according to the buyer’s preference.
