his large watercolor represents a view of Rocamadour in the Lot from the entrance door to the city  ( porte du figuier); it is signed RobertDessales Quentin (1885-1958) at the bottom right; 
Born in Brantôme in the Dordogne in 1885 , Robert Dessales-Quentin entered the Julian academy in the studio of J-P Laurens in Paris . Returning in Périgord , he became a renowned watercolour artist and proposed many works on the Périgord and the neighboring departments whether landscapes, but also views of castles, beautiful houses or churches that make the heritage of these regions famous 
He was a member of the Salon des Artistes Français in 1920.
