This oil on canvas, signed lower right Michel Michaëli, represents a lively street with a market in the foreground (fish market?) under a beautiful blue sky. Marseille or Toulon where, it seems, this painter used to set up his easel. Michel Michaëli is a Provençal painter from the early 20th century who offered many Provençal landscapes, but also landscapes of the Maghreb.
