Decorated 17th-century Italian Majolica Plate

17th-century Italian majolica plate with bird and floral motifs
An interesting 17th-century Italian majolica plate, decorated in monochrome cobalt blue on a white background.
The rim features a refined naturalistic composition depicting a bird perched among flowering branches, leaves, and sinuous plant tendrils. The decoration, executed with vibrancy and a wealth of detail, reflects the ornamental style characteristic of 17th-century Italian ceramic production.
The wide rim is embellished with an elaborate sequence of floral motifs and plant scrolls, arranged harmoniously around the entire circumference.
The reverse side is also particularly interesting, decorated in blue with stylized ornamental motifs, in keeping with a widespread tradition in Italian majolica of the period.
The plate retains the charm and character of an antique 17th-century majolica, with a decoration of considerable artistic and decorative interest.
