The Mediterranean Coast By An Exiled Russian Artist
Landscape of the Mediterranean coast, unsigned, by a Russian artist who emigrated to Paris following the 1917 Revolution.
According to information provided by an observant visitor to Proantic, this is a view of the Rade d'Endoume in Marseille.
The labels on the back, which include the inscription “The art of old Russia executed by famous painters who emigrated to Europe” and the stamp reading “… in memory of the Russian émigrés 1917–1927" did not help me identify the painter. The painting is set in its original wooden frame with gilded stucco, without which the painting measures 25x35 cm.
