Beautiful red chalk drawing by François Verdier depicting a scene from the life of Christ "the head of a synagogue comes to pray to Jesus to resurrect his daughter". Titled at the bottom, the drawing is enhanced with white chalk and is glued to a sheet of old paper measuring 38x28.5 cm. It has some moisture stains. The drawing is sold unframed. François Verdier (1651-1730) was one of the favorite students of Charles Le Brun, winner of the Prix de Rome from 1678 to 1681, he married one of his master's daughters and became one of his main collaborators.
