Marcelle Grasset In Casablanca

Artist: Marcelle Grasset
A lovely sketch of a building in Casablanca, dated 1936, by a female painter who had spent time in Morocco.
Marcelle Grasset, born in Paris in 1910, is best known for her abstract drawings from the 1960s—which bridge the gap between lyrical abstraction and art brut—some of which are held in the collections of the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris.
The painting is set in a molded oak frame from the 1930s; without the frame, it measures 34.5 x 29.2 cm.
