Drawing representing Berthe Roland on stage by Édouard Couturier (1869-1903). The author was a student of Jean Louis Forain, from whom he distanced himself at the time of the Dreyfus affair, campaigning for the recognition of his innocence in the press with very virulent caricatures. He participated in numerous magazines including l'assiette au beurre and l'omnibus de Corinthe founded by Marc Mouclier. He died prematurely at the age of 33 at the Lariboisière hospital. The drawing is sold unframed, it is signed at the bottom right and titled at the top left. A small tear on the left edge should be noted.
