Academic study of a young woman in three-quarter view, wearing a wide-brimmed hat and a blouse with a lace collar tied with a ribbon. The finely modelled head contrasts with the more freely handled body, characteristic of portrait exercises in Parisian art academies of the Belle Époque.
Comparable to drawings from the circle of Paul-César Helleu, Théophile Steinlen, and students of the Académie Julian or Académie Colarossi.
