Bodegon, Spanish Chicken Recipe
Beautiful still life depicting a kitchen table with two chickens, two chili peppers, three zucchini, two radishes, a plate on which rests a knife and two sachets of spices (?), probably the ingredients of a chicken preparation recipe. In the tradition of the bodegon, still life typical of Spanish painting since the 17th century exemplified by those of Francesco Zurbaran, Juan Sanchez Cotan, Luis Melendez or Francisco Goya. The painting has some small accidents, is framed in a modern blackened wooden frame and measures without the latter 42x69 cm.
