"Jose Salis Basque Landscape"
Landscape with bridge and red roof. Oil on canvas signed lower left framed in a molded wood frame and cream stucco. On the back, two numbers are written, 10 and 13. Dimensions without frame 38x55 cm Jose Salis Kamino (1863-1927) after studying painting at the San Fernando School of Fine Arts in Madrid, he perfected his skills with stays in Brussels and Paris. The new way of apprehending the landscape of Corot and the Impressionists marked him. From 1895, he took part in the main salons in Madrid and Paris alongside his friends Joaquin Sorolla and Dario de Regoyos.
