"Ethnographic Journey In The Pacific Ocean, Timor And Guam "
Pair of color engravings from the first part of the 19th century depicting scenes of trade between Westerners and inhabitants of the island of Guam and the island of Timor in the Pacific Ocean. The scene on the island of Guam, titled Agagna, island of Guam, domestic occupations, and drawn by Js Arago and engraved by Lerouge and Chaubard, depicts two Westerners, one by drawing, the other by discussion, inquiring about the island's food. It measures 26.5x33 cm. The other, titled view of the Coupang bazaar, on the island of Timor, drawn by Fx Garnier after A Pellion and engraved by Pomel, shows a soldier having wounded a man with the bayonet of his rifle in a market. They are sold unframed and have some foxing.
