At first glance, one is struck by the freshness of the plant-based hues and by the almost miraculous state of preservation of this fragment. More than a century after it was woven, its colors seem to have lost none of their brilliance.

This radiance comes into its own in a composition of great mastery. The patterns are arranged with precision, and each hue seems chosen to serve them: it highlights one shape, extends another, and maintains the overall balance. The precision of the weaving is evident as much in the arrangement of the patterns as in the interplay of colors.

In this fragment of a Maffrash, the structure and the color palette complement each other so naturally that they make this small piece a true treasure, a collector’s item, and a highly decorative object.
