Louis XV Chest Of Drawers, Curved With Floral Decor, 20th Century
Louis XV-era chest of drawers with floral marquetry, featuring two drawers without crossbars
An elegant, curved Louis XV-era chest of drawers with two wide drawers without visible crossbars, adorned with a remarkable marquetry design of flowers and foliage in warm tones.
The dynamic front features a beautiful floral composition extending across both drawers, highlighted by contrasting wooden frames. The curved uprights, rounded sides, and arched legs emphasize the piece’s refined lines.
The piece is richly adorned with chiseled gilded bronze fittings, including handles, lock plates, corner finials, and a rocaille-decorated lamp base.
It is topped with a molded and scalloped marble slab in shades of pink, cream, and violet—likely Pyrenean marble, though this remains to be confirmed.
A chest of drawers with a striking decorative presence, characteristic of the refined taste of the 18th century, combining elegant forms, delicate marquetry, and rich gilded bronze ornamentation.
