Large Living Room Vase For Floral Arrangements. Ernst August Leuteritz, Germany, Meissen.

A large, museum-quality living room vase, produced at the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory based on a design by the leading sculptor and modeler Ernst August Leuteritz. The monumental form, inspired by Neo-Renaissance and Neo-Baroque traditions, resembles a slender baluster resting on a contoured circular base with a wide foot.

The vase consists of two parts and is distinguished by its bold, architectural silhouette. The tall neck, featuring a wide rim, is adorned with a decorative frieze and a sculpted beaded moldings. Two powerful, volute-shaped handles, embellished with gilded appliqués, create a solemn and perfectly symmetrical rhythm. The lower part of the body and the base are decorated with finely modeled acanthus leaves in relief, generously highlighted with gold.

The interior of the vase is covered with an intense cobalt-blue glaze, characteristic of prestigious Meissen pieces from the 19th century. The central panels feature polychrome enamel painting depicting lush bouquets of roses and chrysanthemums, executed with great artistic mastery. The composition is distinguished by the subtlety of its color gradations, the delicacy of the floral rendering, and the overall harmony of the colors. Rich gilding completes the piece and accentuates its ceremonial character.
