Worshiping Angel Reliquary – 18th Century
Our delicate angel is carved in the round from wood, polychrome, and gilded. Kneeling, he holds a precious reliquary casket containing a19th-century reliquary box, housing a relic ex-ossibus of Saint Jurisy and a second of Saint Clare. The angel has characteristic curly hair and large wings with finely stylized feathers.
The piece rests on a separate oval wooden base.
Dimensions: 34 cm high by 12 cm wide by 18 cm deep.
A late 18th-century piece, likely from northern Italy.
