Imposing Monstrance In Vermeil - 19th Century
The base of our monstrance is richly decorated with floral motifs infloral motifs, in the middle of which is a magnificent Salvator Mundithe Virgin Mary with an Agnus Dei.
The whole is topped by a finely chasedcross.
A production of master silversmith Armand Caillat, circa 1869. Presence ofA.C.S. hallmark with a bee and 950/1000 silver hallmark.
A page of history accompanies this beautiful piece with the presence of an interestinginteresting mark of ownership, that of a pontifical zouave. Baron Vital Rochetaillée, born in Roanne in 1839, was an infantry officerthen General Councillor of the Loire. He entered the service of PopePius IX.
