Important Offering Plate With Tree Of Life Decor - Late 16th Century

Our collection dish from the end of the 16th - beginning of the 17th century, in repoussé brass, is engraved and hallmarked, stylizing the tree of life.
Firmly rooted, its four fruits have multiple seeds, as a symbol of abundance. John tells us (15-8) "If you bear much fruit, it is thus that my Father will be glorified, and that you will be my disciples." The tree of life, mentioned several times in Genesis, is described as being located in the center of the Garden of Eden.
It represents eternal life and communion with God. Cabochon motifs on the double border.
