Baroque Reliquary Altarpiece With 27 Relics – Circa 1740

We present to you a remarkable Italian composition, large in size in an elegant carved and gilded wooden frame, topped with two angels. The base, altar-style, receives 6 monstrances around a central medallion, which is precious. It receives ex-precondis relics, that is to say of the heart.
These relics are those of Blessed Camille de Lellis who will not be sanctified until 1746. It thus allows us to date our reliquary around 1740, in perfect coherence with the whole.
The relics of the following Saints are also present: Saint Amalia Virgin Martyr, Saint Roch Confessor, and Saints Pancrazio, Leopoldino, Agata, Rosalia, Eupressia, Scolatica, Eusebio, Eupio and Valentini. The central part receives three reliquary tubes, sealed with a red wax seal.
They offer important ex-ossibus relics of Saint Simon and Saint Maurice Martyr, the phylactery of the last cylinder is not visible. Finally, the upper part receives 7 tiny relics.
The bottom is covered with a fabric embroidered with flowers and on the back is another wax seal.
A remarkable piece in very good condition
