Set Of Three Decorative Spheres Made Of Semi-precious Stones, 19th Century
An elegant set consisting of three semi-precious stone spheres, each mounted on an elegant, turned base made of ebonized wood. The largest sphere, approximately 18 cm in diameter, is crafted from yellow agatized jasper, characterized by a striking natural pattern in shades of ochre, brown, and gray, crisscrossed by crystalline veins. The other two spheres, smaller in size, are made respectively of “antico verde”—a stone with a characteristic deep green hue and dark veins—and rock crystal, known for its luminous transparency and natural internal inclusions. The set, enhanced by ebonized wooden bases of varying heights and proportions, is an elegant example of collectible objects and cabinet de curiosités pieces, particularly decorative even in a contemporary setting.
