Elegant pair of gilt bronze cassolettes, mercury-gilded and finely chased in the Neoclassical style with strong Empire influences. Each pierced bowl, richly adorned with vegetal scrolls and palmettes, is supported by a kneeling winged Cupid holding a bow. The cylindrical bases are decorated with floral swags and classical motifs. The engraved signature Thomire à Paris refers to the famous workshop of Pierre-Philippe Thomire, leading bronzier of the Napoleonic era. Outstanding decorative objects intended for refined interiors.
