Elegant cylindrical writing etui, known as a nécessaire à écrire, crafted entirely in gold and decorated with fine engraving and guilloché work. The surface features a precise engine-turned mesh pattern, interrupted by raised oval medallions bearing chased motifs of musical instruments, floral elements, and garlands in the Neoclassical style.
The upper section has a finely chased hemispherical lid with a leaf-pattern border and engraved details. The base is engraved with a seal bearing the initial “L” surmounted by a noble crown, likely referring to the original owner.
