A magnificent two-part Roman trumeau cabinet crafted in solid walnut and veneered with richly figured burl wood, enhanced by shaped profiles, architectural detailing, and fine inlaid decoration. The lower section features a serpentine front with three tiers of drawers and a slant-front writing desk revealing an interior fitted with curved drawers and open compartments, all elegantly veneered.
The upper section opens with mirrored, arched doors and is surmounted by a boldly shaped pediment. Inside, a theatrical architectural arrangement evokes a baroque loggia, with engaged columns, arched niches, and mirrored back panels creating depth and perspective. The central crest features an oval marquetry medallion depicting a putto, framed by carved rocaille ornamentation.
Gilt bronze mounts enrich the top corners and pilasters, likely representing allegorical busts or stylized flames. This rare Roman piece combines noble presence, craftsmanship, and scenic impact — an exemplar of mid-18th-century Lazio baroque cabinetmaking.
