Three Souvenirs From The Grand Tour: Two Polychrome Marble Paperweights And A Magnifying Glass
An interesting set consisting of three elegant Grand Tour souvenirs dedicated to the city of Rome, including two paperweights made of polychrome marble inlay and a magnifying glass. The first paperweight, rectangular in shape, is set on a base of Belgian Black marble with a green serpentine plaque in the center bearing the inscription “ROMA,” surrounded by an elegant inlay of polychrome marbles. The second, shaped like a book, is also crafted from polychrome marble with the inscription “ROMA” on the front. The lot is completed by a refined magnifying glass with a porphyry handle and a gilded metal frame. These elegant desk accessories are a testament to the Roman tradition of working with polychrome marble and are ideal as collectibles or gifts.
