"Gold And Enamel Snuffbox With Miniature – Geneva, Ca. 1785"
Elegant round snuffbox in chased gold, translucent polychrome enamels and finely painted miniature. Neoclassical decoration includes Greek key friezes, fluted pilasters and deep red guilloché panels. The lid features a signed portrait by Jean-Baptiste Augustin (ca. 1785), one of the finest French miniaturists of the period.
