Buttons From The King's Bodyguard (4)
Two metal buttons featuring the same embossed design: a human face surrounded by rays, representing the sun. They differ in shape and craftsmanship.
The first, which is flat, was made in London around 1810. It bears a mark on the reverse, with no stamped date. The second, which is domed, was made in Paris during the Restoration and also bears a mark on the reverse.
Both buttons display an antique patina and signs of wear.
Two other buttons of the king's bodyguards, authentic but without marking are offered with this lot.
