Sharkskin grip and pommel with a chiseled lion’s head, gilded bronze mount, guard with two curved, inverted quillons.
Handle engraved with a scallop shell motif.
Straight blade with a flat back, decorated at the heel with foliage and flowers, highlighted in gold.
Swans-neck crossguard with a round body, gold-backed guard; the blade, still in its original blued finish and only lightly cleaned, is decorated with a continuous pattern along its sides.
This type of piece is very rare in this condition from this period.
