A rare and elegant urn-shaped clock in very finely chased and gilded bronze, with a removable cover in the shape of a binet (allowing it to be used as a makeshift torch).
Upper Section: The body takes the form of a baluster vase flanked by two stylized handles shaped like the busts of mermaid women. The whole is topped by a gadrooned lid.
The dial and movement are added.
White enameled dial displaying the hours in Roman numerals and the minute track in Arabic numerals, signed in the center.
Base & Decoration: The vase rests on a fluted pedestal supported by a truncated conical base. The sides feature an applied mask of Medusa (Gorgon), while the front displays a marine motif with two facing dolphins entwined around a trident on a cup.
Base: A quadrangular plinth adorned at the corners with engraved water leaves and resting on four feet shaped like roaring lion paws.
