Antique French clock dating from the beginning of the 19th century; First Empire model depicting a young woman reading with an oil lamp. Work based on the design by Jean Andre Reich (1752-1817) Dial signed Hunziker, rue de Bussy n°22″ clockmaker referenced in the Tardy, dictionary of French clockmakers. Very beautiful mercury gilding with double patina. Base in sea green marble. 32cm high and 30cm wide. Very good condition.
