The piece depicts two gray wagtails, Motacilla cinerea, perched on a naturalistic white porcelain base featuring stylized rocks and foliage.
One is positioned higher up, while the other stands lower, facing its companion. The details of the plumage, wings, beaks, and legs are rendered with precision.
The reverse of the base bears the green mark of the Karl Ens manufactory.
