Antique cast from the late 19th century Rests on a green veined marble base with a row of gilded bronze beads Excellent condition Dimensions with base: Height 30 cm, length 28 cm, depth 12 cm Johann Heinrich Dannecker (1758-1841) is a German artist who works in Stuttgart for the Duke of Wuttemberg. He is very inspired by Antiquity. He developed the drawing of Ariadne riding a panther in 1803 and made it in marble in 1814. It is now kept at the Liebieghaus museum in Frankfurt.
