An oval-shaped box made of gilded metal and Amboina wood.
The strongly convex lid is surrounded by a wide frame;
the base, also surrounded by a frame, rests on four small curved feet;
a decorative clasp with a movable ring; the key is adorned with a lion and Greek motifs.
The richly decorated frame is finely chased with arabesques, spiral volutes, and small pearls.
The interior is lined with green velvet.
Dated to the late 19th–early 20th century.
