Léon Jouhaud, born on December 23, 1874, in Limoges and died in 1950, was a French enamel artist, watercolorist, and pastel artist.

Léon Jouhaud was privately tutored, earned his high school diploma in 1892, and —driven by a passion for bacteriology—began studying medicine in Limoges, then in Paris.
He practiced medicine in his hometown from 1903 to 1906, then embarked onan artistic career in the field of enamelwork, an old local tradition. His early aesthetic, Neo-Impressionism, evolved toward scenes of everyday life or intimate moments, featuring soft or cubist lines and bold colors.
He collaborated with Camille Tharaud on numerous technical refinements and created several porcelain pieces in his own studio; he also produced pieces at GDA Limoges, as well as stoneware, most of which was made at Silex.
Léon Jouhaud, who painted as well as worked with enamel, began exhibiting in 1910 at shows organized by the Society of Independent Artists and the Society of French Artists in Limoges and Paris; there he exhibited pastel paintings as well as painted enamels (genre scenes, landscapes, and still lifes).
There is a fine book on his work and several exhibition catalogs.
