Tiffany: Solid Silver Vermeil Inkwell, Circa 1892–1902

Exceptional solid silver inkwell by TIFFANY resting on its square, four-legged base. The set features a wave and scroll motif with shells at the corners. The interior of the inkwell is in vermeil (gold on silver), and the set is complete with its crystal ink cup. Marked “Sterling” for fineness.925,   "pattern number," and "Order number," allowing us to date the design of this model to 1884 and the actual production to the period 1892–1902, during Charles L. Tiffany’s tenure as director, French hallmark known as the “Charançon,” along with the full-letter signature “TIFFANY & Co” (now part of the LVMH group). A complete Tiffany inkwell in excellent condition, which has also been serviced and cleaned by our silversmith. Absolutely beautiful...
