Rare large Norman Wine Taster in solid silver from the Louis XV period with a bulbous body. Characteristic thumb rest in a cut-out shape and engraved with a cherub holding a flaming heart in one hand and an arrow in the other, all topped with the engraving "I Present it to you" framed by fleurons. Hallmark of Charge (Crowned B) and Discharge (Squirrel) for ROUEN 1744-50, Hallmark of Common House for ROUEN 1749 (Crowned N) and Hallmarks (body and thumb rest) of the Master Goldsmith André LAGENET (AL and "Lamb of God" crowned, and fleur-de-lis below) received in 1715. This exceptional large Rouen Wine Taster from the mid-18th century is in very good condition with remarkable engraving and well hallmarked, beautiful size with its + 118 grams.
