The rims are engraved with the combined coat of arms of Antoine François BOYS de RIOCOUR(T), who married Magdeleine Jeanne Claire MOREL in 1756, all surmounted by a Marquis's Crown. Hallmarks of the VALOGNES Mark of Recognition 1762-75, Hallmarks of the Valognes Common House 1771-75 (Crowned N), and Hallmarks of the Master Silversmith Hughes LE FORESTIER (hallmark with the initials "HF" and three crowned ears of wheat) received in 1740.
