Empire Period Potpourri.
Large potpourri in chiseled bronze, gilded with mercury, and patinated bronze. It features a wide bowl decorated with ogives and fleurons, and a lid pierced with stylized palmette and star motifs. The handle is shaped like a swan. The pyramidal, triangular pedestal has curved sides, is flanked by Empire-style motifs and scrollwork, supported by three winged lions, and rests on a base adorned with heart-shaped rays.
