Louis XVI-style Carved Wooden Grandfather Clock

Louis XVI-style table clock. Late 18th or early 19th century. Crafted from carved wood, it is painted and gilded. The lacquer and gilding are original. Note a few small touch-ups to the gilding. The decoration consists of an urn adorned with a flame and a wreath of flowers and leaves at the top. The dial is surrounded by a row of pearls. The sides are adorned with two console-style supports featuring Greek frets, decorated with laurel toruses and vases with flames. The base is carved with a row of pearls, laurel leaves, fluting, and small flowers. It rests on eight feet decorated with oak leaves. The dial displays the hours and minutes in Arabic numerals. Note a few flaws in the enamel. The string-wound movement is in working order. The balance wheel is an aftermarket replacement and is too small.
