18-karat Gold Napoleon III Nose Clip
These beautiful foldable pince-nez are made of 18-karat gold and feature flat corrective lenses for presbyopia.
The upper bridge is also made of gold.
The retaining ring is shaped like a clover.
Each lens is engraved with a small “18.” This compact model, without a tortoiseshell nose pad and featuring a curved bridge, dates to the late Napoleon III period.
Eagle-head hallmarks on the retaining ring and the small hook that holds it in the folded position.
