Elegant Art Nouveau rocking chair made of bentwood, likely from the Austro-Hungarian Empire, circa 1900.
- Manufacturer: probably Gebrüder Thonet, Vienna (unstamped).
- Model: rocking chair No. 4 (1886 Thonet catalog).
Curved beech, darkly stained and polished to a satin finish. Two overlapping circular rings of curved wood on each side. The backrest posts are topped with volutes. Antique Viennese rattan caning, in good condition. Restored, with slight signs of age and wear on the wood.
