Exceptional, rare pair of Biedermeier shovel chairs from Southern Germany circa 1830.
Walnut and maple veneered on softwood and solid walnut. Extensive ink and pyrography on the back panel. Blackened rear routing. Ebony trim band insert on the frame. Curved tapered and square legs. Restored and hand polished with shellac. Newly padded and covered with black velvet and double keder. Dimensions: H 96 cm x W 53 cm x D 50 cm x H seat 51 cm
