Fine, early Biedermeier Commode or Chest of three drawers in cherry wood from Franconia around 1820.
Cherry veneered on softwood. Ebonized half-columns with corinthian brass capitals and bases. Three drawers with replaced brass fittings and original locks. Solid cherrywood square legs, straight at the front and slightly curved at the back. Upper, flat drawer with interior compartments.
Restored condition, hand-polished shellac.
